SCHOOL trips are now back at Barnsley Museums after in-person workshops were put on hold due to Covid.

The team at Barnsley Museums are now welcoming back pupils to its five attractions - Experience Barnsley, Cooper Gallery, Cannon Hall Museum, Worsbrough Mill and Elsecar Heritage Centre.

As well as on-site visits, outreach sessions and loan boxes are also offered.

Covid-secure measures are in place across all sites.

Coun Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: “There has been a great response to the new and exciting virtual sessions that the Barnsley Museums Learning team offered during Covid, but they are looking forward to welcoming schools from far and wide back to our stunning historic locations.

“With lots of new sessions on offer, children of all ages will be transported back in time making new discoveries on the way.”
