BARNSLEY residents who receive a positive lateral flow result - and are showing no Covid symptoms - will no longer have to take a follow-up PCR test.
The new changes were implemented today and now, instead of taking a PCR test to confirm the virus, residents are being asked to self-isolate immediately and report the result on the government website.
A Barnsley Council spokesperson added: “Anyone eligible for the Test and Trace support payment will still be asked to take a confirmatory PCR if they receive a positive lateral flow result to allow them to access support.”
