BARNSLEY’S coronavirus infection rate is the 135th highest in the UK – out of a possible 214 upper tier local authorities.
The town has previously had the unwanted title of the worst infection rate in England but now rates have dropped.
As of November 26 the rate is 381.7 per 100,000 residents and it’s more than a ten per cent decrease compared to last week.
There were 60 people in Barnsley Hospital with the virus as of November 23.
