TWO men were arrested after being suspected of carrying a weapon.
On November 4, CCTV operators for South Yorkshire Police spotted a man dumping a knife on Regent Street after seeing officers approaching.
Subsequently a 39-year-old man and a 43-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.
Both men appeared at before court and the 39-year-old was ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge, £100 in costs, and was conditionally discharged for 18 months.
The second man was ordered to pay £218 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and received a three month custodial sentence which was suspended for 18 months.
