CARLTON’S annual Christmas light switch-on will take place virtually this year due to ‘rising Covid rates’.
Carlton Village Community Group confirmed earlier this week that the event will be taking place on November 29 at 5pm.
However they have made the decision to deliver the event virtually.
A spokesperson added: “We know this might be disappointing but to ensure our residents are not missing out we are working out the logistics of providing baubles for people to collect, decorate and then hang on our tree.
“It looked fabulous last year and this year should be even better.
“We will post more about live streaming the event in the coming weeks.
“Our tree and lights have been provided again by Monk Bretton Ward Alliance, and the North East Area Team have been a brilliant support with the organising.”
