A POPULAR ‘Santa Dash’ and fun run in memory of young woman who died of cancer will return this year.
The event will take place on December 4 from 9.30am at Manvers Lake, and those looking to get involved are asked to meet at the Boathouse.
It’s in memory Hana Szczepkowski, a 31-year-old Mexborough teacher who lost her life to cancer.
The fun run and Santa Dash is to keep her memory alive and raise funds for the cancer charity Team Verrico who gave her hope and supported her through her illness.
Mark Benton, the chair of Manvers Boat Club, said: “This charity dash and fun run has been held at Manvers for a number of years and we are delighted that it is going ahead this year after Covid put a stop to it in 2020.
“Not only is it great fun but money is being raised for a great cause”.
The fun run starts at 9.30am and covers one lap of Manvers Lake and the Santa Dash starts at 10am - you can run one, two or three laps.
Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children - for more information visit their social media page.
