COLLEGE students will learn about online bullying through a collaboration between Barnsley College and the council.

The scheme, No Place for Hate, aims to tackle online abuse and bullying.

Students are asked to think before they post and to consider the effect their words and actions can have on others.

The students are working with the SEND Youth Forum to educate others on what is considered a hate crime, and ways to stamp out online hate.

Jess Lovatt, student voice advisor at the college, said: “Young people know what would make the most difference to them and their peers, so involving them in these conversations can help us to understand what life is like for young people in Barnsley and how we can help to improve their quality of life.”
