They have released a list of guidance that could prevent any unwanted house guests.
Double-locking doors and keeping your valuables out of sight, also locking your shed or garage can prevent you from becoming a victim of theft.
If you go out in the evenings, it's recommended that you close your curtains and leave lights on, as well as setting your burglar alarm.
It's also recommended that you put important documents – such as vehicle registration documents – in a safe place.
