POLICE officers from across the borough have released advice to help prevent residents from becoming a victim of vehicle crime.
With would-be thieves using more and more crafty ways to make off with vehicles, officers from the town centre team hope to make residents aware of how they can make their vehicle safer.
PCSO Neil Makinson said: “Don’t leave valuables on show and make sure to hide keys and fobs and lock your doors and close windows in your home.
“Also consider fitting an alarm or a tracker, using a physical security, such as a steering lock and parking under street lights, by CCTV cameras, and so that the catalytic converter can’t be easily reached by potential thieves.
“You can also speak to your car dealership or garage to get advice about locks or guards that are approved by the vehicle manufacturer.”
