THERE’S just one month left to enter your nominations for our Proud of Barnsley Awards.

The awards celebrate the best of Barnsley – from local fundraisers to those who have gone that extra mile for someone else and includes everyone from toddlers to teachers.

This year our awards are made that much more special as people have really stepped up during the pandemic to help others in their time of need – whether that’s been by setting up a foodbank or checking in on a neighbour.

We know that those who help others don’t always know how much their actions are appreciated and so we need you to let us know who has gone above and beyond in your area.

Nominations will remain open until the end of August – so there’s still plenty of time for you to get your nominations in.

The categories are: Hospital Hero, Children’s Champion, Charity of the Year, Young Superstar, Community Hero, Sporting Achievement, Community Group, School of the Year, Triumph over Adversity, Exceptional Achievement, Carer of the Year, Charity Fundraiser, Volunteer of the Year, Love Where You Live and Charity Fundraising Team.

One all the nominations have been collected, a shortlist will be drawn up, and the finalists will be welcomed to a fantastic ceremony held at the Metrodome in November.

To nominate someone, send their name, along with why they deserve a nomination and their contact number to ch@barnsley-chronicle.co.uk.
