SATELLITES launched by Elon Musk could be visible flying over Barnsley tonight.

The Starlink internet satellites, which were created by Elon Musk and Space X, could help to provide data, cloud services, and applications to people across the world as early as this year.

The 1,500 satellites orbit the Earth in order to provide internet in often hard-to-reach-areas.

Local stargazers might be interested to know that they could catch a glimpse of the satellites tonight (May 18) at around 10.30pm.

They will be travelling from West to East and will be able to be seen if the night sky is clear.
