BARNSLEY College has been nominated for a national award for its work supporting learners through their GCSE process.
The college has been nominated for the FE College of the Year Award at the TES Awards.
Staff were recognised for their approach to teaching students who were resitting their maths and English GCSEs and providing support for learners.
Yiannis Koursis, principal and chief executive at the college, said: “It’s such an honour for us to be shortlisted for three TES Awards, including FE College of the Year.
“This year has been so hard for every organisation in our sector and to have the extraordinary work that Barnsley College staff have continued to do recognised in this way is a welcome ‘shot in the arm’- alongside the Covid vaccines that is.”
