BIKERS are sparking fears of danger for people using a Silkstone wood.
Parish councillors say they have been contacted by residents worried about using the footpath in Fall Wood because of mountain bikers.
Coun Richard Leech said: “We have identified the landowners and will try to make contact to see if the cyclists have permission to use the land.”
Council clerk Richard Bell said the complaints were part of ‘a huge issue’ in Fall Wood, opposite the Potting Shed.
“I get reports every week from residents,” he said. “But the parish council is powerless as it is not our land and the paths are managed by Barnsley Council.”
