ANYONE dreaming of drinking a cold beer in a sunny beer garden may soon get their wish, as pubs across the borough prepare to open their doors doors next month.

National chain, Wetherspons, made the announcement that its 400 pubs would reopen on April 12 – including The Joseph Brammah in Barnsley and The Horse Shoe in Wombwell.

The pubs will be allowed to reopen under the second stage of the Prime Minister's coronavirus roadmap as pubs and restaurants will be allowed to reopen for outdoor dining.

Customers must wear a mask and abide by social distancing rules.

Due to the restrictions, the pubs will be offering a reduced menu and table service to help reduce the spread of the virus.
