BARNSLEY Hospital Charity is appealing for help to raise funds to provide a new ward with some much-needed furniture.
The Care of the Elderly Ward will help support patients with Alzheimer's and dementia at Barnsley Hospital.
The new furniture will be colour-coded and will help patients to be able to find their way around the ward easier.
The charity has been provided £10,000 towards the furniture on the condition that the amount is match-funded in donations.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “We have secured £10,000 for colour coded furniture for our Care of the Elderly Ward on condition we match fund it. The furniture will enable us to transform our ward into a homely and welcoming place.
“The furniture we will buy is colour coded bedside tables, lockers and chairs which will transform our ward bays and rooms.
“We are so delighted to have received this funding and determined to raise the funds so we can access it.
“Thank you for your support in helping to make a difference for the people of Barnsley."
