RESIDENTS at a Darton care home offered some words of wisdom this Valentine’s Day by telling people the key to love.

Elderly residents at Dignity Residential Care Home, based on Bence Lane, were asked their opinions on the secret to a happy relationship.

Mandy Smith, a carer at the home, said: “The residents chose to do this as when they married, they married for life, and Valentine’s Day is not easy when they have lost the ones they spent most of their lives with.

“So with this in mind, they thought they could offer some advice to the younger generation and spread a little positivity and wise words.”

Some advice from residents included: “Make each other happy. Get along with each other. Good health and always being together. Love, share, happiness. Not living in one another’s pocket.”
