A WEATHER warning has been issued in Barnsley by the Met Office.

Having already been battered with snow and ice last week, Barnsley is set to be hit by snow and ice overnight tonight, February 6.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice across the borough with temperatures expected to plummet to 0°C.

This weather warning continues into tomorrow as well with snow expected.

A spokesperson said: “Rain turning to showers expected, these will increasingly turn to snow, even to lower levels later in the day.

“Feeling cold in strong easterly winds, with gales on coasts. Maximum temperature 4 °C.”

“Further snow showers expected through the next few days, and feeling cold through this period in often strong easterly winds.

“However some bright spells are possible in between the showers.”
