MOTORWAY traffic came to a standstill this morning after a lorry and a car collided.

At around 9.23am on January 11, police were called following reports of a road traffic collision between Junction 35 and 36 of the M1.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “It is believed that a collision occurred between a lorry and a silver Toyota Estate.

“The driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“Lanes of the motorway were closed while recovery took place and were reopened around midday.”
