POLICE officers conducted multiple traffic checks in Hoyland and Elsecar to try deter speeding following residents’ concerns.
The team from Barnsley South East performed two operations on Milton Road, Hoyland, and Armroyd Lane, Elsecar.
On Milton Road, 41 vehicles were recorded and six drivers were caught driving above the speed limit.
In the operation on Armroyd Lane, 48 vehicles were checked but two drivers were found to be speeding.
A spokesperson for the team said: “All failures will be referred to our partners at the Safety Camera Partnership for their actions.”
