BARNSLEY College has announced that its January exams will be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesperson for the college announced that as of yesterday (January 5), all learning would move online to adhere to new coronavirus rules.

January exams at the college have also been cancelled and will be rearranged once lockdown rules have been lifted.

A spokesperson for the college said: “All students will be contacted to ensure they continue to receive the highest standard of education during this latest lockdown.

“To ensure the safety of our learners, their families, and our staff, Barnsley College, following advice from the government, has cancelled all examinations due to take place in January.

“Learners due to take exams this month have been notified and further guidance will be given on future arrangements as soon as possible.”
