LIBRARIES across the borough are now providing a reduced service following the new national lockdown.

Residents will now only be only to use the library to collect a book if you’ve ordered it either online or by telephone, or to use their computers for essential services only.

This comes after the borough was plunged into lockdown earlier today (January 5), so many services have been reduced - apart from Priory Library, on Pontefract Road.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Libraries said: "We collect visitor details to support NHS Test and Trace and make sure we can safely remain open."
