POLICE are appealing for information after a serious assault in Wombwell yesterday.
At around 7.25pm yesterday (December 23) a disturbance was recorded on the High Street/Station Road area of Wombwell.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “It is understood that persons unknown drove a vehicle towards the 22-year-old man near to the Station Road entrance to the library car park, causing injuries. At this time, officers believe that this appears to be a targeted attack.
"A 22-year-old man then attended hospital a short time later with serious injuries. He remains in hospital receiving treatment.”
Police are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.
