IT was finally curtain call for staff at a Thurnscoe care home who took to the stage in their own rendition of the pantomime Cinderella.

Staff at Dearnlea Park Residential Home, on Park Road, made residents smile as they performed for those who had to miss out on the usual annual antics because of the virus.

Earlier in the year, the team asked for costume donations from the community to ensure the show went ahead.

Kim Davies, the activities coordinator at the home, said: “It was an absolutely fantastic day and the residents loved it.

“We’ve spent weeks rehearsing to make sure it was all ready to go.

“It’s been an unprecedented and uncertain year and a lot of the residents have been unable to see their families. We wanted to uplift their spirits and raise a smile.

“Despite a terrible year, I hope we made people forget about that for a while.

“The residents were laughing and some crying with happiness. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”
