A BRANCH of a popular sandwich chain will offer free sandwiches to emergency service workers this Christmas Eve.
The Subway store at Stairfoot will offer free six inch subs to anyone who holds a Blue Light Card to thank them for their hard work during the year.
Owner of the store, Sunil Mehan, said: “We have done a lot for our community since we reopened after lockdown.
“We want to show our thanks to frontline workers for everything they have done this year and this is our way of giving something back for their sacrifices.
“We know many police officers, doctors and nurses, and ambulance drivers will be working on Christmas Day and want to make sure that they can get some food if they need it.”
The offer will be available on Christmas Eve, from 5pm to 7pm.
The owner of the Blue Light Card will be required to claim the offer in person and will only be available in the Stairfoot store.
