CORONAVIRUS may have halted many plans this year, but council bosses have announced that Barnsley will still be decked in Christmas lights.
Each year the Christmas lights are turned on in the Barnsley Bright Nights event.
However because of the pandemic, many events such as Christmas lights events have been cancelled or altered in some way.
This year the event will take place online as the lights are switched on in time for Christmas.
Throughout December Barnsley Council will offer online entertainment packs as well as see how Barnsley's businesses have lit up for Christmas.
The Christmas lights will be on display from December 10 to January 10 as part of the Winter Windowland display.
