A LOCAL mental health charity that has been inundated with new referrals during the pandemic is hosting an online session to help support people with depression and anxiety.

TADS (Therapies for Anxiety, Depression and Stress), on Churchfield Court, has seen numbers of referrals rise during the coronavirus pandemic.

The team has now taken their sessions online and expert Christine Wright, from Habit Breakers, will be talking about how to deal with the effects of alcohol, anxiety and depression.

Carly Turnbull, the manager at TADS hub, said: “Alcohol has been described as ‘the UK’s favourite coping mechanism’, and many adults drink to try and help manage stress, anxiety, depression or other mental health problems.

“TADS has been inundated with new referrals with the lockdown and we are trying to reach out to as many people as we can.

“We’d love for people to join us.”

The session will be live on TADS Facebook page from 4.30pm today (October 16).
