A MOBILE coronavirus testing centre will return to Mapplewell to help provide tests to those who need it.

The walk-in testing centre will be held at Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall next week.

Nick Hibberd, manager of the village hall, said: “The situation has changed since the testing team were last here.

“People are currently being asked to pre book their test - although last time they did provide some assistance.

“This isn't due to lack of facilities at the testing sites but simply due to the testing labs being full to capacity - and beyond.

“Circumstances obviously 'change by the hour' but at least we don't have to drive 120 miles for our nearest test site.”

The testing centre will be open from 10am – 4pm from September 23 to September 27.
