A MARKET worker was shocked to find a little visitor sheltering from the rain in his keyhole as he set off for work.

Joe Copley, 27, was leaving his house on Longman Road, Barnsley this morning (August 28) when he saw a bee sheltering from the rain in the keyhole to his front door.

“I was shocked because I didn't expect it to be there,” said Joe. “Just as I was about to put my key in the door it poked its little head out. Any later and I could have crushed it.”

Despite the shock, Joe said he had no worries about the bee, and shared a snap on social media of it in its temporary home.

“I had to be really careful when I was locking my door so that I didn't scare it,” he added. “I didn't really mind it being there, the keyhole obviously looked like a cosy place for it to shelter from the rain.”
