A COUNCILLOR has hit out at ‘mindless vandals’ after multiple spots in Dodworth were daubed with graffiti.

Coun Neil Wright spoke out after local residents contacted him about graffiti that had appeared throughout the village.

“It’s appalling really because Dodworth is such a lovely village and we never usually have this problem, but its becoming a bigger issue, especially since people may be bored during lockdown,” said Coun Wright.

Now the councillor has urged police to find whoever is responsible.

“The issue has left many local residents and business owners very angry,” he added. “It is absolutely mindless and totally unnecessary, especially when local high street businesses are already facing tough financial times as a result of the pandemic.

“This just adds to the stress of having business premises vandalised.

“I hope that the police will able to identify the culprits from the graffiti tagging.”
