EXPERIENCE Barnsley is asking the public for donations to help with a new collection.

The team at Experience Barnsley is calling for people to share what they have found in their home during lockdown and the memories that go with it for their new exhibition, Show us your Stuff.

Whether you find childhood toys, cherished heirlooms, or old photographs, the team wants you to snap a photo to help create a digital exhibition of the photos shared.

The photos could be used in a digital exhibition either online or in Experience Barnsley.

Coun Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: “The incredible success of Experience Barnsley is based entirely on the generosity of the thousands of people who have donated objects all of which tell the amazing history of our town.

“The museum is one of a kind and it is only fitting that they capture these unusual times in exactly the same way in which it was created.

“People have been using their time during lockdown to de-clutter and re-organise as we are sure some treasures will have been uncovered along the way. It would be great if people could share some of their weird and wonderful discoveries.”

To share your objects search ‘Experience Barnsley’ on Facebook and Twitter or email experiencebarnsley@barnsley.gov.uk.
