STAFF at a popular Cawthorne farm have been nominated in an online competition which aims to recognise people who have gone the extra mile to help cheer up people during lockdown.

Farmers Robert and David Nicholson at Cannon Hall Farm have been shortlisted in the Telegraph’s ‘Lockdown Lift’ category in their Lockdown Awards which will reward those who have helped to raise morale during the lockdown measures.

They have been nominated after broadcasting their lambing season on their Facebook page each day.

The brothers also participated in the Channel Five show ‘Springtime on the Farm’ which they had to film parts of themselves after lockdown restrictions prevented the camera crew from visiting the farm.

In an interview with The Telegraph, farmer Robert Nicholson said: “It’s cheered us up to feel we’re making a difference to people going through challenges in their mental health or feeling socially excluded while staying at home.”

The daily live streams regularly receive more than 40,000 views.
