OFFICERS sealed off several roads during a rooftop siege.
Midland Road, Victoria Road and Park View in Royston were closed yesterday at noon following reports that a man was on the roof of Pockets Sports and Snooker Club on Midland Road.
The 25-year-old man was safely talked down at 2.30pm and arrested.
A video posted online showed the man being put in the back of a police car in handcuffs.
Reports and videos circulating on social media suggested the man on the roof had been the subject of a police appeal back in February.
This appeal had been for information on man wanted in connection with reported threats and harassment, as well as breach of court orders.
Yesterday police confirmed the 25 year old man on the roof had been detained, but declined to confirm the man’s identity.
