AN appeal has been issued by police in a bid to try and trace a man wanted in connection to an assault.

John Colin Maude, 31, is wanted in connection with reported assaults committed in Darton last month.

He is believed to frequent the Barnsley, Wakefield and Leeds areas and may have travelled into West Yorkshire.

A police spokesperson said: "John has a number of tattoos, including a bulldog and a tiger on his left arm, a bulldog and the letters ‘LUFC’ on his right arm, and a bulldog on his right leg.

"If you see John, or you know where John might be, please call 101 quoting crime number 14/18769/19. You can also give information to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111."
