AN intrepid trio from Orchard Views Residential Home aren’t afraid to get muddy to support residents.
The three members of staff from the Gawber Road home will be joining the Great Northern Mud Run in Leeds on June 22, as they hope to raise funds for further activities for residents.
Activities co-ordinator Libby Wheelhouse, who will be taking part, said: “Many residents in the home don’t have family, relatives or friends who come to see them.
“So we work really hard to cheer up the residents and find ways to raise money so we can take them out.
“We hope with the money raised from this we’ll be able to take them to the seaside.”
Some residents will be joining Libby and her team, travelling up to Bramham Park to watch the staff struggle through the gruelling challenge.
“This is going to be a difficult one,” Libby added. "We must be bonkers to have agreed to it. I’m not the fittest person, so it’s going to be a challenge, but a fun one.”
