AN arrest warrant has been issued to a cat owner who admitted causing unnecessary suffering to his pet.

Darren Woodhouse, of Aireton Road, Barnsley, was bailed while a pre-sentence report was compiled.

His tabby cat was found to be suffering with weight loss and fleas, which prompted the RSPCA to pursue court proceedings.

The 40-year-old failed to appear at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court last Monday and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
