THERE’S another opportunity to see local filmmaker Rebecca Sills’ widely-acclaimed film Regeneration – and there’s free beer and pork pies on offer too!
Regeneration tells the story of how the mining industry came to an end. It also discusses the miners’ strike of 1984/1985. The film includes interviews, archive footage and what life is like now in the Dearne Valley.
Rebecca, 25, and her dad Dean Sills, 55, from Bolton-upon-Dearne, have already won over 100 awards in international film festivals for their work.
Following on from screenings at Cineworld and Parkway Cinema in Barnsley, the film is being shown at Highgate Club in Goldthorpe next Thursday (April 25).
The event is free and there is one free pint, a free Elmhirst pork pie, free selection of nibbles and free tea and coffee.
Doors open at 6.30pm and there is also a performance by Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir.
