AN AMAZING effort from volunteers saw them devote over 2,500 hours of their time to a local charity.
Barnsley Hospital Charity has thanked its 15-strong band of volunteers who, it says, have gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months with their achievements.
The volunteers get involved in a host of activities ranging from running stalls in the hospital with tombolas and crafts, supporting the running of the charity hub which opened in July 2023, helping pack discharge packs for patients leaving hospital, delivering and distributing donated items across the hospital.
The charity says the list is endless and a particular highlight is the fact that between them they have devoted over 2,500 hours of their time to helping the charity make a difference and raised £12,524 on their weekly fundraising stalls, topping their 2022 total of £12,135!
“The team have great camaraderie and support each other both professionally and personally and all of them report how much they enjoy supporting the charity,” said the charity.
“In addition to their collective volunteering many of the volunteers have taken part in our charity’s fundraising events such as cold water plunge, skydives, fire and glass walk and a wing walk.
“Thank you for all you do.”
