FIREFIGHTERS were called to numerous deliberate fires in the past week.

Round-up:

TANKERSLEY firefighters had a local call last Thursday evening with two vehicles set alight. An arsonist targeted two vehicles on Maple Road at around 9.30pm. The crew tackled the fires until 10.25pm.

A CAR was deliberately set alight in Smithies in the early hours of Thursday morning. A fire crew from Cudworth station arrived on Wakefield Road, at 2.40am, to extinguish the blaze. They left the scene at 3.30am.

A CAR was deliberately set alight in Wombwell last Saturday night. Upon arrival on Everill Gate Lane, at 9.55pm, the crew from Dearne station put out the blaze. They left the scene at 10.35pm.

ALLOTMENT outbuildings in Thurnscoe were deliberately set alight by arsonists last Friday night. Two fire crews from Adwick and Dearne stations arrived at the allotment on Chapel Lane, at 10pm. They extinguished the blaze and left the scene at 12midnight.

A CAR was deliberately set alight in Haigh in the early hours of Monday morning. Upon arrival on Huddersfield Road, at 1.30am, the crew from Barnsley station extinguished the blaze.

They left the scene at 2.15am.

FIREFIGHTERS from Cudworth station were called to Royston last Sunday night. Upon arrival on Lund Hill Lane, at 11.55pm, the crew extinguished a deliberate rubbish fire. They left the scene at 12.10am.

A SHED was deliberately set alight in Barnsley last Saturday morning. Upon arrival on Honeywell Lane, at 1.45am, the crew from Barnsley station extinguished the blaze. They came away at 3.45am.

A WHEELIE bin was deliberately set alight in Kendray on Monday night. Upon arrival on Farm Road, at 7.30pm, the crew from Cudworth station extinguished the blaze. They left the scene at 7.55pm.
