A breakout photographer has established his own business and been shortlisted for a national award – at just 21 years of age.

Alex Hollinworth, who runs his own commercial photography business, has been working in the industry since he was 16.

With work featured in GQ, Cosmopolitan, the Financial Times and plenty more, Alex’s business has taken his work much further than he could have ever imagined.

After two years of running his own business, he has now been recognised in the Great British Photography Awards, where he has been shortlisted for the commercial photography category.

The awards will take place on November 10 in London, where Alex will learn if he’s won the prestigious title.

“This is one of those things that’s been a goal of mine for years,” he told the Chronicle.

“I kind of thought it was unobtainable for people my age – it seems like something for more established photographers.

“It was a great surprise – if I can win this then it’s instant proof of my work.

“But even if I don’t win this time, I’ll get to go to the event and meet other professional photographers.

“No matter what this has helped my business.”
