TRIBUTES have been paid to a Jane McDonald superfan – who was the life and soul of the party – after he suddenly died earlier this month.
Shane Hill, 43, from Carlton, was a healthcare assistant at Barnsley Hospital’s A and E department and his colleagues have said he will be ‘sorely missed’.
He’s been described as the singer’s biggest fan – and someone who always knew how to cheer others up.
Kerry Nippers, who Shane worked with at the Gawber Road site, said: “He was the biggest Jane McDonald fan.
“She said she was devastated to hear that he died.
“He’s been on 24/7 in A and E and he was a big part of that.
“He’s going to be missed by everyone.
“I worked with him and he was my best friend at work.”
Shane leaves behind his partner Harry Radke, and his funeral will be held at Ardsley Crematorium on Tuesday at 1.30pm.
“He was the life and soul of the party,” Kerry added.
“He cheered everyone up at work – no matter how poorly they were.
“He was so good with the patients and the staff – he’s going to be sorely missed.”
In a tribute to Shane, Jane McDonald added: “I’m so saddened to hear the awful news about Shane Hill’s tragic passing.
“You will be sorely missed.
“RIP Shane.”
