AN amateur drama group whose members formed last year are reaching out to the local community for support ahead of their next performance.
St John’s on Stage will present Gym and Tonic, by John Godber, next Friday and Saturday at the parish hall within St John’s Church on Greenside, Staincross.
Member Susan Green said: “Following the group’s previous successes of ‘How Bad Can This Play Get’ by David Wrightham last June, they are again reaching out to locals with another evening of entertainment and this time, are proud to present Gym and Tonic.
“Don and Shirley Weston have come to Scardale Hall Health Hydro to relax, pamper themselves and just possibly rescue their ailing marriage.
“Don’s experiences with exercise and therapy are far from positive and the rifts in the marriage widen as his midlife crisis becomes more evident, and moments of reconciliation do little to improve the situation.
