BARNSLEY Hospice's festive fundraiser raised a record-breaking £33,000 in 2022.
Over 9,000 Barnsley residents donned reindeer antlers and a red nose for the Rudolph Run throughout November and December last year to support the town’s hospice.
The Rudolph Run saw schoolchildren and business people taking part in a sponsored run or walk during the festive season to raise as much money as possible.
The 2022 total is the largest fundraising total the annual event has raised to date, helping to reach the £2.5million the hospice is required to raise each year.
Vicky Stead, community and relationships manager, thanked those who had supported the event.
“Whether you took part in the fundraiser or sponsored friends and family, we really can’t thank you enough,” she said.
“The Rudolph Run is a lovely event as it’s something the whole community can get involved with, so we are delighted it has raised such a phenomenal amount.”
