A BEAUTY salon in Penistone are helping out this Christmas by collecting for the ladies’ refuge.
Rachel Oxley, 31, and Vanessa Rutkowski, 38, owners of Belle Visage on Market Street, have been a drop-off point for people to donate items to help women and children who have fled an abusive household.
The pair also get involved with donations for Barnsley Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Services (BSARCS) – the only group in the town who offer specialist support services to people whose lives have been affected by rape or sexual abuse.
Rachel told the Chronicle: “The donations this year have been absolutely fabulous, so many people have donated and we are so surprised but also so touched at how many people have been and dropped things off, especially in these difficult times.”
