COMMONWEALTH gold medallist Lachlan Moorhead returned to Penistone Judo Club as a coach last weekend.
The 81kg judo champion took time out of his busy schedule to pay homage to his old club.
Lachlan led the usual Saturday class, where his journey began.
Matt Moorhead, owner and coach at Penistone Judo Club – also Lachlan’s dad – said: “We were all very pleased to see him back at Penistone Judo Club.
“Young members were proud to train with him, see his medal, and have their pictures taken with him.”
Since his success in the Commonwealth Games, Lachlan has been asked by other clubs to coach their members, too.
Matt added: “He was offered a lot of money to take a masterclass at another club.
“He turned the offer down because he wanted his home club to be the first one he visited after winning gold.”
