MORE than £100,000 is available to create or improve open spaces across the Dearne area, a report has revealed.
Through section 106 funding – monies set aside by developers for local amenities – a number of schemes across the area have already been approved.
In Dearne North there is currently £83,312 available following the approval of a development in Kingsmark Way in Goldthorpe.
A report has revealed that the council are currently looking at a potential scheme to refurbish or upgrade the play area at Goldthorpe Rec.
A total of £29,163 is available in Dearne South following the development on Banburgh Lane.
This money could be used for improvement at the Wath Road – commonly known as Mansion Fields – play area.
