BARNSLEY Hospital staff who have gone above and beyond their roles in the last year were awarded for their efforts last Friday.
The Heart Awards – which celebrate employees’ special achievements – received more than 200 nominations in the dozen categories and returned after a two-year lay-off due to the pandemic.
Held at Elsecar Heritage Centre, the event was hosted by radio DJ Stephanie Hirst.
The hospital’s chief executive, Dr Richard Jenkins, said: “The evening was about us coming together to celebrate and share the successes of all the individuals and teams who are involved in taking care of our patients, staff and visitors on a daily basis.
“We received more than 200 nominations this year, which is testament to all the great work our staff and volunteers do every day right across the hospital.”
