‘LONG Covid’ sufferers need better support, according to MP Stephanie Peacock.

An estimated 1.5 million people have long Covid, impacting four per cent of the workforce, but there is little being done to help them.

Labour wants to raise sick pay from the current £96.35 and make it available to all workers, and work to encourage reasonable changes at work to help those living with Long Covid.

Stephanie, who represents Barnsley East, said: “Supporting those with long Covid is important, not just because those with the condition deserve it, but because without the right support there will be huge impact on our economy more generally, particularly our employment and productivity.

“The government must follow Labour’s lead and work with employers to ensure those with long Covid can continue to flourish in their jobs wherever possible.”
