THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for severe winds and potential snow in the area.

The warning came into place on Wednesday and will remain until tomorrow.

Yellow and amber warning are in place for a large part of the UK due to the impact of Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice.

A Barnsley Council spokesperson said: “Our teams are on standby, ready to help if needed.

“Please be careful if you’re out and about.

“If you’re affected by a power cut you can report it online to Northern Powergrid.”
