OFFICERS conducting speed checks in Darton and Mapplewell stopped a number of drivers earlier this week.
Issues around speeding in Mapplewell and Darton dominate local pop-up police events in the area, and so officers have spent more time conducting Operation Slowdown.
On Wednesday, the team were on Spark Lane and Darton Lane - two problem areas - and a number of drivers were stopped and spoken to about their speed.
A police spokesperson added: “However, there is a speed we can no longer accept and deal with by advice.
“Due to this two drivers were reported for the offence of exceeding the speed limit.
“Please watch your speed.”
