A COLD weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Barnsley until Thursday.
The warning means that residents should expect ‘very cold weather’ from now until December 23.
A council spokesperson said: “Cold weather can be particularly tough for people with long-term health conditions, children under five, or people over 65.
“You can find lots of support and top tips on our stay well this winter page and the Met Office’s Weather Ready campaign.
“Our teams will be out and about checking to make sure we have no one rough sleeping.
